The death of our dog Frank a few weeks ago was devastating and traumatic. The pain of seeing him die and facing the abyss of our permanent separation was gut wrenching. I adored him and he was my beautiful boy. Just touching his soft warm fur made me feel so comforted and happy. I loved to dote on Frank every day, for nearly 9 years.
So then, it will be hard for many to imagine how I could have recovered from the excruciating pain of his death within a few days. Particularly as I compare my own years of suffering when we lost the family dog, many years ago.
Let me reinforce here that I’m not avoiding any pain. Quite the opposite.
What could have changed in my approach, I hear you ask? Well, the answer is that I use my Intuitive Healing practice all the time, and have done so for years now - particularly the shadow work aspect. Truly feeling into the discomforts by facing the pain and putting into practice everything I teach my clients in Intuitive Healing sessions. The Intuitive Healing process is something I have researched and developed over many years and if you or I are willing to ‘go there’ in the most raw way, and then learn to resurface out of the pain, it is usually helpful in our recovery.

I continue to think of our beautiful Frank in such a loving way. He still makes me laugh and love as I recall so many memories and look at our photos together over the 9 years we had. I may feel sad sometimes which is now very short lived and as I said, I stopped feeling the overwhelming crippling pain of his passing weeks ago.
