What to do after a healing session

I notice that energy work affects everyone differently. In addition to that, people may even feel differently after every session. Many people report feeling a sense of lightness, clarity, centeredness and groundedness after a session. While others may experience tingling, tiredness, hot or cold, shifting emotions and sensations. 


What to do after a session

Know that the healing continues after the session is over. To help support the shifts that are still taking place, I encourage self-care. That can look like spending time in nature, having a salt bath or mindfully nurturing yourself, however you feel you need. Your body will be processing just as much as your mind and spirit so it is important to treat yourself well. 

  • Drink plenty of water.

  • If you feel sleepy, then honor your body and sleep.

  • For at least 24 hours after a session, consume fresh fruit and vegetables.

  • Avoid drugs and alcohol (before and after a session).

  • Avoid strenuous activities including any activity that would make you strain muscles or make you sweat.

  • It’s ok to drink lemon water or hot herbal teas. If possible, avoid caffeine.


Normal reactions after a session

Your body may continue to make subtle shifts and corrections for up to 72 hours after a session. You may notice signs of your body’s attempts to continue to return to a state of balance and harmony. Some signs may be:

  • Increased energy 

  • Tiredness and enhanced sleep 

  • Relief from pain and increased mobility

  • Elimination of toxins such as pimples or spots, increased nasal mucus or changes in bowel movements and digestive activity

  • Emotional or psychological release (such as feeling sadness, anger etc). 


Action steps

Taking the insights from the healing session and implementing them into your life is a crucial step toward reinforcing the changes that have come about in the session. During your healing, I may have given you some recommendations or clarified with you steps you would like to take moving toward. Where appropriate it is best to use the momentum of the session to start implementing the agreed action steps. Remember that small, consistent steps are more powerful in creating lasting change rather than big steps made at random.


Re-book

One session is a great to start seeing changes in yourself and your life. The most successful cases however are the people who are ready to set aside a period of time in their life where they make their healing journey one of their priorities.

I usually recommend people book on a fortnightly basis for Kinesiology and Intuitive Healing while we work through the main priorities identified.

Likewise with Reiki, the clients I see every few weeks or once a month make the most profound healing transformations.



So remember to devote the time after each session for you and please remember to be gentle and compassionate with yourself as you reintegrate into your daily routine. This recommendation is applicable for those people who come for as little as one session or repeatedly for many years.
